Starbucks and UK baker in 'Duffin' kerfuffle

The world has gone crazy for hybrid pastries.

In New York, fans continue to stand outside the Dominique Ansel bakery every morning to buy the fried, cream-filled hybrid known as the Cronut. Its popularity has since spread to London, and Starbucks looked to get in on the hybrid craze by unveiling their own “Frankenpastry,” a donut-muffin concoction called the Duffin.

On its website, Starbucks UK proudly noted that the company “sat together with our bakers” to create a pastry that combined “the iconic shape” of a muffin with “the elements of a traditional jam-filled donut.”

Sounds tasty, right? Not to Bea Vo.

(Via WAFB) Americans have been looking for healthier alternatives to red meat for years. Sometime, those alternatives become popular, like bison and ostrich.

But would you sink your teeth into a rodent known to be a major pest around the world? Maybe not, but one Louisiana man thinks your dog would.

You could call this a case of an early bird not wanting to catch the worm.

All high school student Derrick Holt wanted was a quick bite to eat when he purchased a Sausage McMuffin at a McDonald’s in Buckeye, Arizona.

What he says he got was a disgusting surprise, a stomach problem that’s kept him out of school and mixed messages from the restaurant that served him.

Have you ever cleaned out your refrigerator or pantry and found a really old piece of food?

You know what I’m talking about - Oreo cookies that have gone from black and white to all green, slices of mold-dripping bread, milk that smells like it was bottled at the sulfur mine.

Usually, we have a knack for knowing when to toss away food that’s about to go bad. But sometimes, we completely forget about it until we encounter quite a surprise.
