Fast food workers strike in 50 cities

Fast food workers in 50 cities across the U.S. are walking off the job Thursday as they protest for higher wages.

Organizers say it will be the largest strike to hit the $200 billion fast-food industry.

Workers from fast food giants McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's and Yum Brands-owned KFC are calling on their employers to pay them a minimum of $15 an hour and allow them to form unions without retaliation.

In wake of anti-American protests, KFC shuts all Pakistan restaurants

Yum! Brands is shuttering all of its KFC franchises in Pakistan in the wake of anti-American protests there, after one of its KFC restaurants was attacked in Lebanon last week, the company said Friday.

"Our KFC restaurants in Pakistan are closing as a precautionary measure," said Yum! Brands spokesman Christopher Fuller. "They will continually monitor the situation to decide when to re-open."

Japan’s finger-lickin’ Christmas tradition

Christmas is often a time for heavy eating and drinking, and the Japanese don't miss out.

But unlike many other countries where there are traditional Christmas dishes, Japan does not have any, and a quick look at a regular family's Christmas feast shows that anything, from sushi to chinese steamed shrimps, are acceptable at the buffet.

However, there is one specialty that many Japanese like to have on the table next to those items – fried chicken from KFC.

Today, it is possibly the closest thing in Japan to a Christmas tradition.
