Pssst! Got a sec to chat? We are utterly thrilled when readers want to hang out and talk – whether it's amongst themselves or in response to pieces we've posted. We want Eatocracy to be a cozy, spirited online home for those who find their way here.

Consider the weekly Coffee Klatsch post as your VIP lounge – the primary comments thread for readers who'd like to chat about topics not related to the articles we're running. That way, everyone knows where to find each other, and each post's comments section remains on topic. Grilled up some Ribeyes last night-in the rain. Must be Washington. Did some roasted garlic-rosemary potatoes to go with. Oh yeah-a side of fresh spinach out of the garden. Was pretty damn good if I do say so myself :)

Don't be a WUSS-A golf umbrella works wonders while Naked Grilling-or pull the grilling apron over your head. You shall remain anonymous……..

Hey! Only a wuss would USE an umbrella while nekkid grillin'. I was out there loud and proud soakin' up the liquid sunshine :) Actually I've toyed around with the idea of putting an umbrella on the ole grill somehow........

        • AleeD® @ RichBro & RC

If you've got an umbrella attached to your grille, how do you eat? Also, and tangent too, during nekkid grilling, I'm a firm believer in wrapping your meat before working it so it doesn't get soft too soon ... wait ... what were we talking about? ~_~

  2. AleeD's Wawa Report

Six inch chicken salad sub. Check.
Fresh ingredients just like the commercials say? Check.
Nice selection of toppings & spreads. Check, check.
Comfortable place to sit & eat? Not so much.

If you're on the go, it's a good place to stop & create a a sub for the road. However, when you want to stop for lunch and have a leisurely break in your work day, make sure it's not 96 degrees out with 98% humidity 'cuz there's no place to eat inside where it's air conditioned. Otherwise they were good eats.

Thanks to all who chimed in on my query.

Due to unusually high player, viewer and fan apathy, the USA – Germany World Cup game has been forfeited by both sides. The game will not be rescheduled.

You may now return to your regularly scheduled Eatocracy.

Apathy? Not in my home or office. I have three monitors and I'm multislacking; busy stuff on one, this stuff on the other and the USA Germany game on the other. This game is a conundrum for me. I'm a big fan of Germany, but USA USA!
This might be the best game ever!

      June 26, 2014 at 12:40 pm |
      • ∞ Weeds ∞

Germany made a great goal. Beautiful. Our goalie was quick but that return cross was quicker. I was disappointed in team USA, they didn't seem be playing their A game. Where was the offense? Maybe our offense was off the field watching Portugal play...

Well I finally got a hold of Mr. Inspector yesterday, so they are scheduled to go out on Monday, 3+ weeks after the initial request. So, I decided last night to go for a getaway this weekend...Waikiki Beach here I come. That should help ease my pain a little. At least a change of scenary!

Pick up a hula skirt before you leave so you can do a proper "my home is inspected and now I can move in" dance.

Ha! IF they show up Monday, and IF we pass inspection, I'm still looking at 1-2 weeks more for utility meters installed...ugh, then mom has surgery on 7/14, so the irony is it will probably be ready then and I won't be able to move in because I'm in Phoenix!! fuster cluck if i ever saw one

And its even sadder to think that people may have donated that money if they knew the real story anyway, no need to create a con.

      June 24, 2014 at 9:08 am |
    • Is it really news?

      Guilty until proven innocent?
From the articles I've read, the KFC investigators (hired by the local chain, not corporate) have not been able to confirm this occurred. In backwards, truth speak, they can not deny this event occurred. Much like Christie's personal investigation exonerated him from a bridge incident (federal investigators haven't, yet). In both cases the facts are not all in. The issue, thanks to the lack of sensationalist news elsewhere, (no missing airplanes, no no-name celebrities getting arrested in wild fashion) has allowed this story to be blown out of proportion.

I'm going to side with the girls family. It started as a story of being wronged and no one was rushing to court looking for compensation.

It's nice to see that people do care and are helping this poor little girl get a smile back that she can enjoy in the mirror. At worse case we can be glad her face wasn't disfigured by her husband because his family was unsatisfied with the child bride marriage. But being attacked by three family owned pit bulls ranks up there.

Have you ever used a NuWave oven? I bought one about 4 months ago and I seriously have only used my regular big oven twice in that time. I have baked in it, cooked steaks, pork chops, chicken, etc. and am really happy with the results so far. I haven't done pizza in it yet, but I've seen where other people have.
