*Sigh* Another Saturday at the salt mines. Anyone else have to work this weekend?
17deg. this morning-Brrrr! (apologies to those in single/minus digits).
Yep. -18 here this morning. gagh. Supposed to get up to 30 in the middle of the week. yay
Dang! A heat wave......
OMG I just realized some of my favorite craft brews use GMO products. Where, I say WHERE are the food ethics?
I can't trust the water out of my tap. I can't trust my beer? Man cannot live on vodka alone. Thank the spirits for unadulterated bourbon. And Makers Mark – you looser, don't mess with the proof. ever. I liked you but you cheated me.
I read about Google's doodle for the Olympics being wrapped in a rainbow and I took offense to Google politicizing the ghey rights issue. Then I went to look at it and read their fine print, which was something omitted in the article I read.
"The practice of sport is a human right. Every individual must have the possibility of practicing sport, without discrimination of any kind and in the Olympic spirit, which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play." –Olympic Charter
I get it. I full understand and support it. But I still want the movement to give the rainbow back to the unicorns and return the yabba-dabba-gay'ol time to being festive again.
I couldn't care less what people do to each other behind closed doors. What annoys me is the LBTG community is very akin to the vegan populace. I don't care if you like sausage, why do you feel the need to tell me about it? Do I go around telling everyone that I like the poontang? No. Keep it to yourself, I don't want to know if you like to dip the sausage into the fondue. And that's all I gotsta say about that.
As it's the only word I think my post is waiting in moderation land is maybe p00nt@ng is a modded word?
It's on the list now.
I thought the modbot caught fondue. With that, I say, a due.
a fond adue
Ah yes, the garden of Eden. The place of which we must not spell one way or another.
doh, this totally being taken out of context. I thought I said this on a completely unrelated article.
I hope everyone has a good weekend.
Anyone else miss "Dreamy Eyes" from last week's Coffee Klatsch? Sigh...
Still in love?
Good morning, all from chilly NY. It looks like we're going to miss the big storm on Sunday, we'll just be getting two little ones that leave 1-3 inches behind, just a nuisance storm.
Confirmed with my doc yesterday that surgery is in my future, seeing the surgeon on Monday to find out the when part.
Enjoy the weekend!!
Warm wishes for a speedy recovery Sweet Lady!
Good Morning Ms. P.-Do your Homework via the Googles and The Internets so you can communicate All your concerns with your surgeon on Monday. I'm thinking about 'ya !! Stay Warm and hug the Furries for me.
You might get too smart. I mean there are some youtube vids showing the procedure and are interesting. Then there are some still pics and stories of extreme cases so keep that part in perspective in your research.
I wish all goes well.
I concur. One must learn to be very selective when Googling medical info. When hubby was diagnosed with cancer, I had many "helpful" family & friends sending me some of the most extreme pictures for cancers – some that he wasn't even diagnosed with. Like any good tool, it has it's uses. ;)
I hope you're feeling better real soon! Make sure to speak to your doctor about the change in your diet after the surgery. I had serious problems (and sometimes still do) after eating fried food or BEEF (of all things). It's known as the dumping syndrome. As it is lunchtime, I'll refrain from details, but it's important to know about. I had my gallbladder out about 10 years ago.
Good luck!
WAAAAAAAAAAAAKE UUUUUUUUUUUP!

Have you ever taken a bite out of a sandwich and thought you were chewing on rubber? Well maybe this is why.
http://foodbabe.com/2014/02/04/launching-petition-subway-will-finally-hear-us-loud-clear/
Well, that sucks.
I was alarmed at how much sodium is in a 6 inch ham sandwich. The bread is pretty high in sodium, I guess.
Wow-over 700,000 people at yesterdays Seahawks victory parade! Filled up Century Link AND Safeco fields. The amazing thing is no major incidents. What a fantastic way to welcome the team home!
I have a couple friends in the area. They posted clips of police in riot gear tossing tear gas on Sunday night. LOL.
Reminds me, winter Olympics start today.
Good morning! A day without snow, maybe 2 if we're lucky. Sunday's impending storm is still undetermined whether we'll get hit or not. But, in the meantime, cold weather, 17 degrees now, but not as cold as where Truth is, so I'm happy.
Any weekend plans now that there's no more footyball?
I woke to ten below and am in day two of thermals at the office. Talked to a friend upstate last night, and they got two feet, so I guess it is all relative.
Nothing on television for a while in terms of sports, but at least the Olympics are on. Even hockey is taking something of a sabbatical this month since most of the players play for their home countries. Wake me in March.
World Cup this summer! Ole, ole, ole, ole!

Good TurdsDay Morning Kidz….Dear State of Indiana-Do You have Snow Plows or Dump Trucks that drop sand and salt ?? If so, Use 'em Dammit. Ohio was nice and clean along with parts of Illinois and Iowa,But Indiana ??? Noooooooooo- AzzHats…..Ahhhhhh, I feel Better now. :))
Stay Safe and Warm Kidz….headed back to PA.
Yo Bro, waddya know? (hey that rhymes!) Sorry to hear about all the white stuff getting in your way. I hear snow cones made with it can be pretty tasty. ^_^ Drive carefully Dude.
Stay safe and avoid the "expert drivers"!!
Good morning all, from the icebox. Woke to fourteen below this morning. We are not supposed to go above freezing until the weekend. Good times!
How is everyone doing today?
It wasn't that cold here, but I woke up to 10 inches of snow. I had to shovel the deck before taking out the furries. Furry 1 loved the deep snow, she always has. Furry 2 has never seen snow this deep and was a bit hesitant before she adjusted to romping and playing.
The major interstate through NY, Rt. 84, has been closed from the PA border to the CT border due to snow, and in expectation of the sleet and freezing rain to follow. What a joy!!
Stay warm, I hope you're wearing your silkies.
Funny you mention silkies, as I am...First time I have worn longjohns and was not planning to be hunting or on a ski lift.
Wow! The entire length of 84 is closed. Not sure I ever remember that happening. Be glad that you can do the WAH thing. I arrived at 6:30 this morning to find the boss already here. For an hour. Impressive.
Did anyone make a resolution this year that they're sticking with so far?
Loved your utter comment. Don't know why folks always have to dump on a good thing.
My resolution was to drink more water. I like to raise the bar really high.
I made a decision back in December to get monthly massages for my neck issues, and signed up on a subscription plan with my massage place, and yes, I've gone so far. Other than that, I resolved to take my vacation time this year, I lost some last year due to last minute work stuff, and plan to schedule it soon.
You?
Thanks for asking. I made a resolution a long time ago not to make any resolutions at each new year. I have too many flaws to save them up, so I make improvements thruout the year. ;)
Good " Hump Day " Morning Kidz from a snowy Ohio. It's gonna be Slow going into Indiana,Illinois and then Iowa…..SIGH !! On the bright side, I get a front row seat to watching the Demolition Derby…or Slip and Slide if you will. It should be an Interesting Day. Iowa 80 here I come. :)) Be Safe,Warm and Enjoy your Day Everyone.
Not sure how this one flew under the radar for best Super Bowl commercial, but this one really hit me. Last week, I lost a longtime friend to addiction, which is also why the Philip Seymour Hoffman news hit me particularly hard. Both he and my friend were 46 and from NYC, Now I have people wondering why I am sitting in my office crying...Never underestimate the impact that you have on people on a daily, and almost unperceived basis...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvhYN9gN0nI
Sincere condolences my friend. Addiction is tough. Seems it can strike anywhere.
I'm so sorry. It's a weirdly rough one. I used to see him all the time in the West Village and just felt like he was one of the good and real ones.
Please accept my most sincere condolences for your loss.
Because you're such a good bud, I'll block off a free hour-of-your-choice in the dungeon. ;)
I am so sorry for your loss, it is so hard to see someone you care about fall to that. :(
Good Morning My Brother--I'm Sorry to hear about this. I believe we have talked in the past about your friend. Stay Strong,We learn new lessons in Life each and every day.
Silent HUGS for your loss.
Good afternoon everyone. I missed yesterday's snow by 50 miles... apparently that's supposed to change but we'll see.
Good morning! We're in between snow storms here in NY, we're getting the trifecta this week, can hardly wait.
I had a new experience on Sunday night (and no, not due to the poor Broncos loss)....a gall bladder attack! It was awful, horrible, the worst. Has anyone else ever experienced this, and if so, did you have the surgery? Need real opinions, please.
I'm so sorry Mary. I watched my mother go thru many, painful gall bladder attacks. She tried altering her diet (highly recommended) and it worked for a while. Ultimately, hers had to come out. Did you see a doc about it? If so, what did s/he say?
I saw a doc several years ago and had the gall bladder tests, which showed that it was pretty much non-functioning at that time, but since I was not symptomatic, we decided to wait and see. This was my first full blown attack and I hope to never get another. I'm seeing the doc Thursday so we'll see what she recommends, I'm up for the surgery if necessary, as long as they can go the easy route which would only be about a week recovery.
so sorry about that, I had it happen about 7 years ago, but not in any extreme pain, was sent to the ER, and they wanted to admit me and do surgery right away...I freaked out a bit and decided to wait to see if that was the only option, bad decision on my part. By the time I had the surgery, the stone had passed through to the common bile duct, so post surgery was excrutiating and I ended up back in the hospital for another procedure. My advice is if you do have the surgery make sure they check the common duct as well, it sounds like this may already be the case if you are in that much pain...morphine was the only thing that worked on that kind of pain...good luck!
Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it.
The bad news: Everyone I know who's had gall bladder problems had theirs surgically removed.
The good news: It is reported to be the easiest operation to experience, three holes to the abdomen and out it comes. If everything goes accordingly, you'll be be home the same day, in time to watch the Olympics.
Good morning Klatschers! I made a visit to the vampires this morning. Now I can say with a straight face that I am MUCH holier than thou ... three holes holier to be precise. ;) Three pr!cks to drain four vials of type O outta me. Sheesh.
At least she was a nice vampire. Did I miss anything?
Well then Darlin', this one goes out to you today. Rock on!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aqi__IhuBEY
Thanks Turth™. ^_^ I started watching it and someone walked in on me. I'll have to pick it up again at Home Sweet Home.
I hope you're doing ok, we may have to section off a sick ward here in the lounge.
These pr!cks were for my annual blood tests (yes that IS spelled correctly). Great doc I have. Tests everything before prescribing meds. Gotta love her.
I did have a different test early this morning that could prove to be interesting. Stay tuned...
Why do I get the feeling we're going to need to install a basinet in the dungeon...?
*cough*sputter* Just cleaned my dang monitor. Now .... gotta clean it again. [;-ppp
Basinet? ... OhHELLno! Children are gifts from OTHER people – ones that I'm happy to return when the time is ripe.
Awww...I had visions of the Klatch regulars doing virtual babysitting...TWO can regale the young'un with tales of Russian rockstars, RichHead can tell some tales from the road, JDizz can tell stories of the 49ers, and I can read to her from National Review...
See Gore. See Gore run. Run, Gore, Run!
See Kaep. See Kaep run. See Kaep throw an interception to end the season.
=(
Good morning all from another snowy morning in Denver. Less than two inches and people have officially freaked out. Go figure...
Good TootsDay Morning from a 12 degree Carlisle,PA. Gonna be an interesting day of playing Professional Tourist while trying to make Iowa tomorrow evening. Since I'm a betting man….lost my Azz in the Super Bowl-–I figure I'll make it to Stoney Ridge,OH before shutting down due to the snow and ice. This is another BIG weather maker so Kat…..grab the whippet and stay warm. :)) Be Safe and Warm Everyone.
Be careful out there BFF (best food friend) and stay warm!!
Beautiful day here. Sunshine and 40deg. And guess what? Gotz a rack of ribs on the smoker. My first attempt ;)
NOICE
My button is back! You may now return to whatever you were doing. slowwww day here.
Good morning! It's warm enough to snow!! A veritable heat wave!
Sorry out there to any Denver fans. I loved the commercials that I did see (but didn't hear) through dinner at Red Lobster.
And apparently the FDA is looking at updating food nutrition labels: http://www.sfgate.com/food/article/FDA-plans-update-to-20-year-old-nutrition-labels-5170092.php
It's Monday and it's cold here in So Cal...37 this morning, but heading to 60ish later. I was cooking away during 1st quarter of the game, sat down to watch it and poof, the channel went dead, frozen, nada, nothing. I'm sure there were a few cable customers not too happy last evening. At least my Frank's Red Hot Buffalo Chicken Dip was good, so very very good!
Good morning all, and many congrats to the Seattle Seahawks and their resident fan RC. Great win, and your guys really brought it. Many congrats!
And RIP to Philip Seymour Hoffman, and many condolences to his loved ones. Gone way too soon.
Thanks Bro! I am still kinda in shock that it was that one-sided. Huge props to the 'Hawks-they played out of their minds! Percy Harvin? Like he never had any down time. I watched the game at home by myself and I still can't talk.
Oh-I gotz my button back!
Good Gooooooo-Balooooo……What a Blowout, and I ain't talking tires. This shows one thing…Tony Romo still has a chance at winning a Super Bowl. Gawd Awful performance by Denver….even the cheerleaders were deflated. :(( A tip of the hat to RC and Seattle. On the Bright side….My Texas Rangers drafted Russell Wilson as a pitcher,go figure. Yep, It's a Bloody Monday. :(
I can still hear RC laughing all the way across the country. Congrats man, sorry Truth.
