Hundreds of people verbally ripped apart a young waitress via social media Tuesday after a news report raised questions about her claim that a family decided not to tip her because she is gay. The restaurant owners now say they are investigating her claim. Dayna Morales, 22, a former Marine, first complained about the alleged incident on a "Have a Gay Day" Facebook page, posting a photo of a receipt that read, "I'm sorry but I cannot tip because I do not agree with what your lifestyle and how you live your life." A report on television station NBC4 displayed a receipt from a family showing an $18 tip on a bill of $93.55, and a credit card statement with the same total value, $111.55, to back it up. In the wake of the report, the restaurants' owners released a statement saying, "We are aware of the allegations and we have no comment pending an internal investigation," according to the general manager. WHAT IS WRONG WITH EVERYONE, YOU SHOULDN'T JUDGE THEM STRAIGHTS, GAYS, THEY ARE PEOPLE JUST LIKE WE ARE JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE CHOOSES TO LIVE THERE LIFES DIFFERENT DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE BAD PEOPLE. I AM STRAIGHT YOU PEOPLE NEED TO TAKE A LOOK AROUND
Disgusting. It's exacltly these kinds of "crying wolf" antics that discredit the true victims. I hope the waitress publicly apologizes to the family she slandered.
I wonder if all of those people that were ranting and raving about this will retract their ignorant statements. Somehow, I doubt it.
I called this ten days ago. After the similar hoax in Kansas, it seems all of this demographic is fighting for the coveted title of "victim"...it proves that this group cannot be trusted and should be disregarded. Christophobia is ugly, but this group fears that which they don't understand...
So you're saying that based on these two examples, all gays are untrustworthy? Just like a Christian to make generalizations. You're all the same.
Now where's that sarcasm font?
You want to say the gay community is untrustworthy because of a few isolated incidents? Well, then, you must assume that all men, women, whites, blacks, straights, atheists, religious folks, the elderly, the young, and everyone else is completely untrustworthy too. I can guarantee you I can find more hoaxes perpetrated by straights in any given time period, even proportional to the respective populations, than you can find for gay folks. All this story proves is that we gay folks are just like straight people: we can lie, we can tell the truth, we can be media whores, we can be private. Holy cow! Maybe we're not that different from straight people after all! Imagine that.
