Pssst! Got a sec to chat?

We are utterly thrilled when readers want to hang out and talk – whether it's amongst themselves or in response to pieces we've posted. We want Eatocracy to be a cozy, spirited online home for those who find their way here.

Consider the weekly Coffee Klatsch post as your VIP lounge – the primary comments thread for readers who'd like to chat about topics not related to the articles we're running. That way, everyone knows where to find each other, and each post's comments section remains on topic.

You can always find it from the link in the left rail, or by bookmarking

I would like to ask you a few questions if you have the time. Feel free to shoot a loyal reader an email (like the guilt trip?) at the one provided in registry. It's a junk mail option, but I'll check it if you send me a response. Just let me know here if you do.

Kinda off topic, but is the Cherry Cricket really any good?

      November 15, 2013 at 1:15 pm |
      • Truth™@RC

The Cricket is good, but a little overrated. The nice thing is that you can get a burger with pretty anything you can think of. The downside is if you bring a date. It is kind of like taking a date to a fishmarket. VERY loud and hard to hear.

A couple of comments on Obozo's speech:

    1. What happens to all the people who had to turn off their home internets because they couldn't afford it anymore? And what if they don't live near a library or are "afraid" to go into one?
    2. Too bad your administration allowed so many technology jobs to go overseas...maybe they could have fixed your government problem of "not being good at procuring IT services".

One more (or 29): The President of The United States should NEVER say, "I'm sorry" (especially 29 times in one press conference). "I'm disappointed; frustrated; angry..." is OK, but never SORRY. It's another sign of weakness being handed to our enemies. Just my opinion, but...

Let me axe 'dis question……How can a President change a signed law, without Congressional Approval?

          November 14, 2013 at 12:28 pm |
        • Sir Biddle

Trust me, the tea party has little or no long term weight in Washington. Cruz is an outlier. No matter who is in the big seat, there will always be favors to repay for who got you there and the bureaucracy only piles up further. Even the city council for a tiny town has similar political issues as here in Washington. Just a different flavor and amount of. Rome will crumble some day and it will likely be to the Chinese.

Doing well here. Always entertaining to live in the city of congressional stupidity. Starting watching House of Cards on Netflix. A little too close to the truth but enjoy the show a lot and only 2 episodes into it. Saw an article about a trucking company that made me think of you. If the driver went 1M miles accident free, their cab was painted gold. 2M and it was painted black. Wondered if there was any unadvertised status ques in your industry. How things with you?

To My Brothers,Sisters,Mothers,Fathers and Families-Thank You for Your sacrifices. I had the Honor of speaking to My Father,Mother and Brother today at DFW Memorial Cemetery. I stand at Attention and Salute you All.
As I told my Brother from another Mother yesterday-take a Vet to lunch or dinner today…listen and learn from what they have to say.

It is a holiday. The kids are out of school and apparently hanging out on that thread.

Isn't it odd that school children and their teachers get Veteran's Day off, yet millions of veterans still have to work?

Gooooooood Monday & Veteran's Day morning all! Hands on hearts to all veterans everywhere. Saaaalute!

Coffee's brewing and there are home-made granola bars for munching. Today's brew is Starbux French roast because someone raided the Lounge's fridge over the weekend and drank up all the Jolt cola. Grrr.
