Pssst! Got a sec to chat? We are utterly thrilled when readers want to hang out and talk – whether it's amongst themselves or in response to pieces we've posted. We want Eatocracy to be a cozy, spirited online home for those who find their way here. You can always find it from the link in the left rail, or by bookmarking http://eatocracy.cnn.com/category/buzz/coffee-klatsch/. Kat's still in New Orleans. We think. Where are you? Up there - that's Tim Gunn because why not? |

Wow...Lou Reed died...I will never hear "Pale Blue Eyes" again without thinking of this...
Greetings friends and welcome back Kat! I had a run in with nurse Kratchett who needs to be re-skooled on the art of inserting a needle in ones arm...and I have the bruises to prove it!
Working Saturday sucks........
Bummer! I was out Thurs/Friday so I will be logging in today to clean up any messes left behind in my absence...
Sad Hollywood news about my namesake's real life persona, Mary McCormick. She and her husband have split after he was photographed kissing another woman....they have 3 young children, the youngest isn't even a year old.
I vote that she should revert to her tough US Marshal's persona and kick some azz.
Agreed. Has to be hard news especially with her latest show being cancelled.
What on Earth is wrong with people?
That must have been one kell of a hiss.

I get the reference, but God I hate autotune. I'm sorry, but that's not music.
This is the worst "song" of the century.
Sarcastic video share.
Thank you. I wholeheartedly agree.
Happy Friday!

Don't look, I'm Trucker Twerking---
Can you say that, out loud, really fast 5 times? ^_^
Now that's music!
Breaking news! Big Salami sightings confirmed! Boston residents report multiple sightings of the creature known as Big Pappi.(sp) Although these sightings have been confirmed, the use of the Big Salami has apparently had little effect in the overall outcome of a little known sporting contest known as the "World Series of Baseball" It is a little known competition that is not expected to gain much popular acceptance.
Argh-I hates me some ModBots! What line did I cross this time?
Ooohhh, I see. Can't say t it. Hehe!
Update on the break-in: They did find my stolen jewelry at a pawn shop!!! My city (Albany, NY) has a law where pawn/secondhand shops have to send information to the police on items that are sold to them (and hold them for 10 days) so the items can be compared to stolen item reports.
The pieces are now in an evidence bag. The detectives are pretty sure who committed the break-in, and are searching for the suspects. Once they're in custody, it's a matter for arraignment and trial... then I'll be able to get them back and get things into a safe deposit box! Unfortunately that may take some time... but it is better than never getting my family heirlooms back!
Also, once the suspects are in custody the detectives can ask them what happened to my laptop.
Great news!
Oh man, that's great! I just hope the perp(s) come to justice. You know what they say-Karma's a female canine. BTW-sounds like the safety deposit box is a good idea.
Was just comparing the nutritional value of apples (with skin) vs pineapples. To some surprise, pineapples contain a lot more of your daily vitamin and mineral recommended amounts than apples do. Particularly vitamin C, manganese, and copper.
Hiiii! I'm back from New Orleans. Bruised and full, but back. What did I miss?
Welcome back Darlin'! We missed you, but you will have some 'splainin to do about the bruises and where you ate. The last time I was in NOLA, it was under water, so I missed out on the restaurants.
What you missed:
McGady is back, but just went through a theft.
The debate of feline wine continues to elicit whines (see what I did there?)
JBJ is fine tuning her roadtrip (Hint: She would REALLY love to find out where an Eatocracy cutting board can be procured)
JDizz, RichHead, and AleeD were reminiscing as to when we all first started posting here. Circa 2010 is the best estimate most of us can come up with.
And the Panera thread continues to bring the rats out of the woodwork. What higher praise for a food blog?
And I think that is about it. Again, welcome back Darlin'!
You. Rock. My. World.
Welcome back, I hope you had a great trip despite the bruises!
Hi... you missed my grand re-entrance. :)
We all missed you kittens-welcome back!
We all missed you Kittens-welcome back! A ship without a captain can only sail by herself for so long before she runs aground.
Geez-you'd think I'd be better at this by now.
Good morning, very chilly here this morning, its 34 as I type!!! Too soon for this weather!!
How's everyone doing this wacky Wednesday?
We're suffering thru a 75 degree day. Brrr. It could get as low as 60 this weekend! Time to break out the electric blankets and hot chocolate!
Yo....'Sista......I gotz some Special Dark Chocolate for your Hot Chocolate drink. It was on sale at WallyWorld.
Special? Are you talking about the name of the dark Hershey bar or did you do something "special" to it, Bro? ~_~
HUH ??? ME.....trying to doctor up a special hot chocolate drink for my 'Sista? Unheard of..........little marshmallows floating on top--you might want to put a night light and clear a path to the Loo though.
I'll be a lot better once the detective calls me back: my apartment was broken into last week and the detective is going to the pawnshop he believes has my family jewelry that was stolen.
Sorry to hear that, I hope you are able to get your possessions back!
This is too good to pass up....
I always keep my family jewels with me. :)
I hope the thieves are caught and everything you value is returned. I wish there was a way to make a bad day better.
Man that sucks. Makes you feel so damn violated. I hope you get your things back and they find and hang the perp.
For some, this will never get old:

MIKEMIKEMIKEMIKE!
How is everyone doing today? Where's RC?
Here I are. HUMPDAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!
Nice smackdown to our annoying friend in the other room...
Guess I haven't had enough coffee yet, but I'm not following......please enlighten me.
Our friend with the foul mouth and the Steinbeck aspirations...
*Face palm* Okay-now I get it. Thanks. Yours was hilarious as well. I know we're not supposed to feed 'em, but that one makes it too easy.
Makes me laugh every frikkin time. If there are awards given for commercials (something like the Oscars?), this one wins hands down.
That would be the Cl it, um, I mean Clio awards.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clio_Awards
And I wholeheartedly agree with you.
Did Mistress just slip me some tongue-I er...I mean was that a slip of the tongue?
Yes
I'm not worthy!!!!!
An hour east of Viking country, deep into Packer territory.
That sounds like a place where men are men and sheep are scared.
durn it....you made my coffee spew out of my nose!
Hey everyone... it's been a while but I figured I'd say hi. :)
Helloooooooo!
Today would have been the day we would have seen this performed live....sigh.....I particularly like the stanza about the dog, I know several of us CK'ers understand.
http://youtu.be/N24TDeQjlQM
Would have been a great week too. Temps in the 60s, and the leaves are starting to change. Had a seriously hard time going back to the office after lunch yesterday...
Man I dig the sound of steel drums and a dobro. Jimmy still rocks!
Good morning! Finally a win for my Giants, not that it should count. That whole game was more comedy than sports.
One other thing, but spoiler alert, this is political, so you can stop reading here if you're opposed.
Did anyone else catch that the company who built the Obamacare website is from Canada???? Now, I'm not against Canadians, but with all the IT companies right here in the US of A, why send a job like that to Canada?
Rant over.
Cue the Queen music---We are the Champions, my Friends--and we'll keep on fighting till the end...or The Dallas Cowboys,or The NY Jets,or.......
We just could not help but to lose tonight. Up until last week, we were solidly conservative. Since the shutdown though, some of our guys became misinformed, which spelled disaster for us, as NO liberal team can compete against a team with conservative values...

That's one helluva road trip! I'm jealous.
It's my 'fantasy roadtrip' for when I win the lottery! Although I do believe I hold the record for meeting (face to face) the most CK'ers! I'm waiting for Kat and/or SLT to send me my Eatocracy cutting board...*sigh*
Awesome! If you ever get north to the Seattle area, look me up. I'd love to help you add another face to your list. And Kat/SLT, for the love of all that's right, Send Jingles an Eatocracy cutting board!
Just thought of something to maybe add into your itenerary. Have you ever been to a churrascaria before?
Um, I think I have been to one, but it was in Cancun so I don't think it counts...should I change up my visit to your kneck of the wuds?
I am not sure what you mean...
Looking forward to seeing you! We've got casinos in Atlantic City and across the Delaware River in Philly. Twice as many places to lose your money, honey!
I can do a casino run, but I only require one place to lose my money... o.O
Hey friends! It's been awhile but I wanted to share this link to a facebook page I manage at work. I went to our county's harvest dinner on Friday night and it was fantastic! If you are on facebook, I think you should be able to see the pictures! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151805195199064.1073741851.114262564063&type=3
If you have a locally sourced event like this in your area, I highly recommend attending!!
p.s. live is good, but very busy, glad to see you are all still here in the klatsch!
Oh wow, that's so cool that no one bothered to check it out.
Another Monday, another Week 4. YAWN.
Good morning everyone!
As to the question above, I'm in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. About 70 miles north of Seattle.
Lots of good football yesterday. I think Manning and Co. got a reality check. Thought it was funny they opened the roof when they know Peyton always liked it closed. Too bad the 'Niners don't have somebody better to play than Jacksonville when they go to London. Seems like a wasted trip.
Good Monday Morning Kidz from a Beautiful Katy, TX. 71 degrees with a Bright Blue Texas sky. Can't get no better than this. Sooooo, I see that our Fearless Leader is enjoying herself in NOLA–took a Swamp Boat Tour and stated " My bangs still won't stay flat "....She is such a Dare Devil. BTW Kitten...You've got a dead bug on your teeth. Perhaps the Klatschers can set up a Monster Truck Mud Run for her? That would get the tinkle twirling for sure. Enjoy your week everyone..I gotz chores to do.
Good morning all from a chilly (and somewhat subdued) Denver. Had to do major ice scraping this morning. Need to park in the garage going forward.
Who invited Joe Biden for pose for this week's pic?
lasfgasdgfiuwe89f932u4rip
Yep. Keyboard works.
qwertyuiop
Yup, mine, too.
asdfghjkl;'
Ditto
Cool. We get to look at a huge flamer all week.
?
The guy in the picture. lol
Ahh. Company computer here, so no pics/video allowed. Sucks.
So I looked at the pic when I got home. Yeah-you're right.
Takes about 4 words out of his mouth to figure it out. One of them with the elongated pronunciation of the letter 'S'.
"Oh, sssstop it, ssssillly!!"
I started posting May 2011, first just as a grateful sister for all the support you all showed Truth when our Mom passed, but I've been here ever since.
To reply to SLT's q above, I'm in chilly NY, about 60 miles north of NYC, and its 37 degrees right now. Had to turn the heat on for the first time.
Good morning Mary. I remember your first few posts. What was your moniker before you took Mary's name?
To SLT's query, I'm in WCF: West Central Floridork. Not always something to be proud of when news stories like this greet you in the morning:
Two convicted killers who walked out of a Florida prison on forged documents have been recaptured in Panama City, Florida, authorities say.
http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/19/justice/florida-inmates-mistakenly-freed/index.html?hpt=hp_inthenews
I was Phoenix, named after my favorite vacation place in Aruba.
Ah yes. Now I remember. :)
Moderated for what?
I'm with Kat in NO
Last week, RC asked for Klatschers birth dates. Playing off that, when did you first post here, on the Klatsch? Mine was 2/11/10. Coming up on 4 years. Time's fun when you're having flies. ^_^
I'm still a babe. Only been on for a couple of months.
June or July 2010. I'm OG, along with Rich Turth and a few others. I think Eatocracy was created in June 2010. I was bored when filling in as a banker in the UP of MI
At 65 years young, Max Headroom.
Hmmmmm. Head.....
Conscious, too. ~_~
Doh!
