Pssst! Got a sec to chat? We are utterly thrilled when readers want to hang out and talk – whether it's amongst themselves or in response to pieces we've posted. We want Eatocracy to be a cozy, spirited online home for those who find their way here. You can always find it from the link in the left rail, or by bookmarking http://eatocracy.cnn.com/category/buzz/coffee-klatsch/. If things start to heat back up over the summer, we'll go daily again. Personally, we've really enjoyed the flow of conversation this past couple of weeks, because conversations have been able to continue for people who don't visit every day – but it's a work in progress and we're always listening. Your weekend went how? |

Hi, everyone and Happy Friday!! Any good weekend plans?
I am going to try to attend an old fashioned apple picking/cider making party Saturday. A friend of mine has a very old house, built during the 1800's and land that includes apple orchards and various other fruit trees. Every year, if the apple crop is sufficient (no, AleeD, not that kind of crop), they hold Apple Day.
They have several old machines that are used to extract the cider, its a group event, lots of people doing the picking then the peeling and pressing. After the work is done everyone sits around and has a variety of homemade soups sitting wherever you find room outside on the property. Its a great event and I always feel like I'm transported back in time.
May do an i-Report if the hosts don't mind photos.
Mmmm, looooove apple cider. Sounds like you're going to have a lot of fun – even without my special type of crop. ^_^
Don't forget to start a batch of hard cider!
Sounds like a great party

Nice Friday song.
Hi All...I'm alive and well and so is Odie...
Best wishes and good sleep Kat...
TWO – Ditto from the invite from MG, I have a current, unbroken record, of meeting face-to-face TWO Klatsch members, so a 3rd might actually get me the elusive Eatocracy cutting board (hint hint, nod nod).
RH – you owe me an email...
Are you going to be in the DC area, count me in possibly if the timing works!
Sadly, my work travels don't get out your way often and never to a federal centric local like DC...my business is at the state regulatory level...but I might get close to you some day, you never know... :)
I also owe you a Hatch Pepper report. I didn't end up being able to make one of the pepper roasting events you sent me, but I had a friend who lived near one pick me up about 6-8. I grilled them and they were great. However, that night some toxic waste from one of the little Biddle's got into my system and I was down for 2 days with a stomach bug. So any real enjoyment of the peppers didn't stay in my system long. Maybe next year.
HATCH! PEPPER! YUM!
Did you get a chance to see my iReport on my Hatch extravaganza??
Good morning, chilly here this morning, 44 degrees. I hope everyone is having a good week so far!
Love this kind of weather. Cool mornings and then nice warm days. Football and apple picking time!
Did you take little biddle and dress him up in a portis jersey?
Jordy Nelson baby, Jordy Nelson!
What's up SlagBuckets!?
Not much, horsebeast.
Your 9'ers killed my pool last weekend, amongst others. Went to the Deadskins game and it was pretty bad. Get rid of RGII at this point and give Cousins a chance. Please beat St Louis on Thursday. Bears/Lions will be the game to watch this weekend.
I have no idea how Thursday will go. Check out the IR/PUP/NFI list – Crabtree, Manningham, LaMichael James, Willis, Aldon Smith, Culliver, Ian Williams, traded Parys Haralson.
Ugh.
See other comment. I've been gone for a while so apparently I forgot how to post correctly...
I am very honored to have broken Tom Brady's three game record tonight...I have to attribute my success to a great set of ends and receivers, good health and a strong set of conservative values, especially regarding taxes.. See you at the Meadowlands in February!
How' bout them Deadskins?
Robert Griffins Mother now yells " Ohhhhh Three, Ohhhhh Three, Dinners ready ".
RGIII is avliberal stooge who will never get his game together until he gets his head straight on Afghanistan, taxes and Obamacare. Just sayin...
Well howdy-do folks! What have I missed over the past year? And where is Queeny? I am at a client in Indiana next week!
Sending my best to you Kat!!!
Well....HOWDY! Glad you're back! What's news?
Oh nothing much here... just another day in the paradise we call the DMV. How are you?
Every time I go to our local DMV, it reminds me of the waiting room scenes in Beetlejuice.
For my age group I'm FAB! Would like to meet you if you ever get to southern California!
One thing about Washington state-our DMV, or DOL as it's called is awesome. Never more than a ten minute adventure.
Michele – I will let you know if I get out that way! I've been praying for a client out there, cause traveling on the clients dime is a lot better for my wallet :)
My DMV I meant DC, Maryland, Virginia but the other one works too :)
Looking forward! Cheers!
Dude looks like Andre from the League
Eeesh. I wouldn't let that guy near my dungeon with a 10 foot con dom. We run a respectable, sick & twisted adult playground and he looks way too sketchy.
I do believe that grin of his... it comes from having discovered your um, dungeon services web site. Perhaps too much cat o' nine-tails?
My head Exploded !!!
That's OK Coach,my heads in a bottle.
I can't even find my head.
I think Tony Romo threw my head for a touchdown.
Aldon entered rehab after the game.
My head feels great!
What a Sunday! Mind = blown. Cincinnati looks legit, 9ers have zero receivers to throw to, Mark Sanchez is now relegated to Matt Flynn status.
Even Tavaris Jackson looked good for the Hawks. Was funny watching Russell Wilson on the sidelines after they took him out at the end of the 3rd qtr. Didn't even unsnap his helmet till the 2min. warning. Dude just wants to play!
Sorry for delay. I've got some family stuff going on. Just needed to sleep last night & forgot to Klatsch. Hope y'all had an excellent weekend.
Sorry to hear that, and hopefully your week will get better. Thanks Kitten...
Thank you. Realistically, it's only gonna get harder, but I honestly do appreciate the support.
Living that now myself.
Hi,
If I remember correctly, Rule #1--There are No Apologizes allowed on this Blog. Family is something that keeps us All awake, whether we realize it or not. Perhaps it is time to take accrued Days off, travel to Kentucky and hold someone Special in your Life? She taught you a lot Kat, and always told you that you were Beautiful and Special. A Very Smart Women. Please get some sleep...A journey is in your Future.
RH - Thank you. It's so complicated, but I know I'm not alone. The parents are actually in South Carolina now, and I'll be there for the next few days, then traveling to Mississippi to take part in the debate of my life. Sarah's got the wheel, but I'll be checking in with you lovely people.
Safe travels Kitten......and Good Luck in Mississippi--The debate about Paper vs Plastic is a tough one to defend. :)
Dittos to Kat! (((HUG)))
Hugs and positive thoughts!
may your family stuff be repairable. If not, may you weather all the emotions well, knowing that your strength gained from your hardship is something you can use to help and give to others you you care about when they are in a similar situation.
have you read Stranger in a Strange Land?
