Pssst! Got a sec to chat?

We are utterly thrilled when readers want to hang out and talk – whether it's amongst themselves or in response to pieces we've posted. We want Eatocracy to be a cozy, spirited online home for those who find their way here.

Consider the daily Coffee Klatsch post as your VIP lounge – the primary comments thread for readers who'd like to chat about topics not related to the articles we're running. That way, everyone knows where to find each other, and each post's comments section remains on topic.

I get the feeling that you only pay close attention to things that are the center of your world, like yourself, so the Coffee klatsch obviously will not work for you. Cheers mate!

If I were a fruitcake I couldn't die. I would just be given to many, many people. Over and over again. And so many cheesy grins of "thanks".

It's ok. I picture you wearing a studded dog collar – so cat dragging works. ;)

Oh you and there. Bouncing around the country like a greyhound on meth. Been focused on some personal stuff so I sort of retreated into my shell for a few months.

And it's totally a spiked dog collar...the cat got impaled on on of the spikes. Since this is a friendly blog, he is at the vet and ok.

Good Terrifying Thursday everyone! Wait, let me check, yep it's still morning here. Wecome bacl blue eyes ~_~, new posters, and our regular crowd as well.

I was able to pick up about 1/3 of the makings of my haunted gingerbread house at Target yesterday, but now I can't find the picture of the one I made years ago, so tearing my hair out and my house apart looking for it...I get obsessed that way.

And why don't they carry black licorice in the stores anymore!??

Thank you everyone for the prayers and happy thoughts for my friend and her family. Surgery two went well, so now it's just a question of digging in for the long haul and watching out for possible rejection and other complications.

It's one of those odd situations where I'm sad to know that someone has died, but happy to know that my friend has been given a chance to get to know her baby.

I read about your friend yesterday. I send my good thoughts & prayers to her & her family, and to you, for being such a good friend. Was everything ok with the baby?

Good Morning Lil' Buddy--Did 'ya get Pop's moved in? Here is something special......Jack Daniels will introduce a special bottle to commemorate "Ole Blue Eyes " Frank Sinatra. It's only $150.00 a bottle. Now I've got blue eyes–so I wonder if it will make me sing like him after I sample it?

Good Morning Bro-How's Little Biddle 2 doing? He should keep you in shape-getting in and out of bed each night. I'm Finally off of the Target account and will start the Auto parts run on Monday. I'm in Dallas 'cuz Blue and I were Bad Boys in Arkansas-–seems a little old Grandma got her Depends in a wad when we rolled up on her while she was chatting on the cell phone and doing 48 mph in the Hammer Lane no less. She swears we tried to push her out of the way and that she could see Flames from Big Blues Stacks after she Finally moved out of the way. Needless to say-The safety Meeting was a lot of FUN. :))

Hey man glad your new routes are working out. Yep, pops moved all in. My dog just keeps following him around and staring at him. "When the frack you gonna leave, I need my beauty sleep?" Just got out of a fire marshall meeting. I'm sure that was as "entertaining" as your safety meeting.

I'm in your court as to the left lane idiots. Get moving or get in the correct lane. The little Biddles are doing well. LB2 is sleeping thru the night now which is a huge benefit and LB is learning how to ride his skuut bike and loving it. Its basically a small bike with no pedals that he glides on to teach him balance. That and his current obsession with spider webs and Halloween decorations, keeps going on walks interesting.

Good morning folks! I actually slept with the windows open last night. Very unusual warm weather we are having! Although, the end is coming as the week proceeds. Sad! I see there are a lot of football fans on this sight. I'm a huge football fan, too. My team is sucking this year, though. I had such high hopes for this season. Oh well. Have a great day everyone!

      Who do you root for?

      October 25, 2012 at 10:46 am |
      • HarleyGirl@Mary

I've been a die hard Lions fan all my life. I don't know what is wrong with their coaching staff this year. I think I could call a better game than they have been doing lately. Of course, big Michigan fan, too. They are rebuilding, too. Oh yeah, don't forget the Tigers! I love my sports! So Mary, are you a giants fan? Trying to get to know who is who on here.

        October 25, 2012 at 11:10 am |
        • Mary Shannon

Yes, I'm absolutely a Giants fan, then Denver, then Jets. Other than staying current with the big games, I don't follow any other sports. I've lived in NY most of my life, with a 10 year stint in VA and a briefer time in CO.

          October 25, 2012 at 11:30 am |
        • HarleyGirl@Mary

Interesting! You have really gotten around (I don't mean that in a bad way! lol..). I've only lived in Michigan. I've been to Colorado & Virginia on vacation. Haven't had the pleasure of NY yet. Got that on my bucket list, though. Thanks for the info. I like making new friends from different parts of the country. Have a good day!

Good morning all. Two inches of snow in Denver last night, and of course, nobody remembers how to drive in snow after the summer.

Good Morning Brother....What's snow? I haven't seen any in a while. Should be a good game --Broncos and Saints. I'm calling this one even.

Denver, huh? Do you ski? I've been to your great state skiing many times. My boss actually owns a house in Winter Park. It works for me, because he leaves for Colorado in December, and I don't see him again until April. I love ski season! lol... You live in a very beautiful state.

      October 25, 2012 at 11:29 am |
      • Truth™@HarleyGirl

I LOVE to ski. Following a layoff in 2003, I worked half a season as an instructor at Keystone, which is my favorite place to ski. There's a section in the back of the resort that seems to always get little traffic, and I can spend all day on it.

Best part of being a local though is riding the ski lifts with people from all over the world/country and when they ask where I'm from, I just tell them this is my backyard. I LOVE it here..

Btw, I have to ask, which model do you ride? Used to have a Sportster and am considering another.

        October 25, 2012 at 11:44 am |
        • HarleyGirl@Truth

I have a sportster, too. I'm only 5'2", so I got an 883L. They sit the lowest. I can still go up to a 1200, and still touch the ground. It was on my bucket list. I wanted to learn to ride a motorcycle, and I did. Funny, I bought a brand new bike, and didn't even know how to ride it. lol.. Good thing I'm a fast learner! I live out in the country, so we have lots of good cruising roads. Not to mention, I'm about 40 minutes from Lake Michigan, which is some gorgeous riding. I agree about Keystone, too. I really enjoyed skiing there. You are very lucky to have the mountains in your backyard. I'm jealous!

        • Truth™@HarleyGirl

Have you ever skiied the Outback at Keystone? That is my favorite part of the whole place. For some reason the tourists usually stay on the front, and you can spend all day on the outback and have lots of peace and quiet. Loveland opened yesterday, and while today's snow is encouraging, the real season will not kick in until about Thanksgiving. Still nice to see it though.

And agreed about the Sportster. Great starter bike. It's about as hardcore as I will ever get.

          October 25, 2012 at 12:38 pm |
        • HarleyGirl@truth

As a matter of fact, I have skied the Outback. Funny story. We were skiing the front part of the mountain. It was a beautiful day (spring break time). We all took off our jackets & hats, and stowed them in the lockers. We then went to the Outback to ski. We were having a great time, when all of a sudden the temps dropped & a snowstorm started. Here we all are (big group of us) in the middle of a snowstorm, with no coats or hats. Let me tell you, we couldn't get back fast enough. A lesson learned the hard way! lol...

Good morning, and I also welcome the newbies, its nice seeing lots of activity and new people joining our friendly little group.

However, there is one individual who is not welcome, and the name is Sandy. Open note to Sandy: Please change your travel plans as soon as possible for a destination other than the East Coast, preferably some open water to the east.. I've read up on you and you're not a friendly kind of storm to have visit us. Please go away. That is all.
