Wild game is fair game in our books, but roadkill kinda curbs our appetite. Would you chow down on found deer? Watch Anderson Cooper 360° weeknights 8pm ET. For the latest from AC360° click here. |

perfectly legal to pick up and eat fresh roadkill in WV
It helps to have someone watch for traffic.
I am not a huge fan of roadkill (ewww) but the sad fact is that roadkill deer was healthier then the beef they sell at grocery stores in this day and age! At least it was GMO free and wasn't washed with ammonia before making it to the table. Bonus points because it was grass fed rather then fed animal byproducts lol
I once came across a severely injured, but still living, deer on the side of the road near my home. I put it out of it's misery for humanitarian reasons, but I ate it, too, because why the heck not? It was good. My guess is, this was a freshly killed accident victim that the restauranteurs were planning to recycle for personal use. There's nothing wrong with that. There is something wrong with their judgement for dragging it in at lunch time in full view of their clientele.
Not a problem. I hate to see food wasted. Bon appetit!
