It's Super Sunday, well not really, but it is beeeeutiful here today for now, heading into 94 in a while...
OK....soooooo, I contact SirB via e-mail concerning how Momma's doing with the impending birth of Lil' Richard...and Mamma's got a Brand New Bag. On Monday no less....this really sucks, since James Brown and Lil' Richard were both excellent Entertainers. Of course,SirB has not figured in the time difference of CDT and Yankee time. I could still win....but again,I shall T-Bow to the 49-er's and my Brother Jdizzle.
How much do you stand to loose? Lol
Well since there are Four of us left from the original Posters on this Blog, I guess you could say Everything. We are Family, been through alot of stuff, without chili and onions, but....the clock is ticking-don't look.
And thank you, Klatschmenons, old and new. I'll keep setting the table for whoever wants to come around to supper.
BTW - say hi to my newest family member, Penelope! http://instagram.com/p/NXUrIWAmTJ/
Hey, Who you calling OLD? Thanks Kitten.
Nice to meet you Kat :)
Hugs and pets to you and your Family member! OXOXOXOX
Oh dear, my husband has torched a fry pan & deployed fire extinguisher everywhere. There goes dinner. And no, I'm not kidding..lol. I went to the store for salsa & came home to the stench of burned food and fans blowing air out. Maybe its still edible, just add lots of salsa?? Lol
WOW!!!!! Now THERE's a Saturday for you! Sympathies!
Thanks. He is banned from cooking at all now. Except grilling.
well, keep your fire extinguishers charged up! Several.
Haha, yes I have to. He's torched a microwave & an oven in the last year. I should've known better, but he tries so hard. At least now I have a reason to get nice & new pots & pans.
CLASSIC! LONG Live Robin!!!!!
hubby came close to this when we were dating, he came over the make dinner while I was at zumba. Got home, took shower, got out to the smell of something burning. Turns out he didn't realize how quickly garlic burns, esp when set to high and no oil in the pan...
@JainaJade- I did chuckle a little bit reading that :) . My husband admitted he got too engrossed in his WWII DVDs & forgot all about the food. He blew up a microwave the day before Thanksgiving because he put a prebaked pie he bought in there still in the metal pan. He had never cooked aside from boxed shells & cheese before we got married. He lived off take out. Is your husband better at cooking now?
Just back from Wally's big brother Sam's with 13.32 lbs of Boston Butt! Ideas anyone? Crock pot pulled bbq pork is my go to but looking for ideas as I will split this...
Did you buy extra TP for the large BB ?
Yes, Sam's Club sized! :D Now how about suggestions??
I need some TP–I strained my Brain. Here we go-–Pizza,Tamales, Stew, Chow Mien, or Redneck Suesheeee !!
Thanks for the ideas, big help you two are! 7 lbs slow cooked overnight with onions, garlic, s & p, ready to shred when cooled, return to crockpot with some Sweet Baby Rays. Leftover roast chicken will be made into a enchilala casserole later also for during the week. :)
Maybe tacos? RH had good ideas. Hmm...I'm trying to think! Lol..I'm such a dingbat today that I can't think of anything. Could you do a pork roast with it? We don't eat much pork here (hubby hates it) so I'm not the best with pork recipes.
Thanks......asking me about Pork Recipes is like asking Karnac the Magnificent who will win the World Series. I have NOOOOOO Clue. Texas Beef is where it's at. I still chuckle when she asks though. :))
Ah, I see :). I have to cook for very picky people so my own knowledge is limited..lol
Happy Saturday!! Enjoy the weekend!
Hey! If you're not going to dinner with Obama, at least now you can sign his birthday card!
A Lil' Something for Obozo's Birthday.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mM3fzqQ4pBc&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Love that thing. We use it all the time on each other on the Niners Message Boards.
Sigh. Forgot the word ent!tled gets a post moderated.
Got called up to the court, then told they settled! Let the weekend begin! Be good, or not...
Off topic, but since my phone has decided I don't need to see comments I guess I will try to restart this thing. Anyone else use the mobile site & have this problem?
No. I actually see more on my phone. Ever notice a story might show it has 4 comments, but you only see three? I can see the fourth one on my phone. Always seems to be some blog site comment.
I get those posts too. This is a tempermental two year old Droid. It's gotten to where it eats my text messages or makes it look like some alien language. I have to wait until the 3rd of August to get the upgrade. I can live with it. Just gets irritating sometimes.
Your comment is awaiting moderation.
back to waiting...and waiting... and what is up with the outfits some woman wear to court? I didn'nt think "h00ker-casual" was still in style?
It's your shoes M'am...too much glitter.
if it was just glitter shoes...how about the whole 'mountain' range runneth over in a waytootight top!
Let me adjust my glasses and take a look. :)
Star Trek meets Night Court:
Today is the kind of day I think we all need some Necco wafers.............. thanks for the comic relief JDizz. ((Hugs))
the court has denied my access to such material, much like my employer.
That's it. "Night Court: The Series" is going on my Christmas list. That brought back some great memories. Thanks Jdizz.
back to waiting...and waiting... and what is up with the outfits some woman wear to court? I didn'nt think "hooker-casual" was still in style?
Barnes & Noble just joined the ranks of poor taste/poor timing with their latest Facebook post: "Click "Like" if you're going to see "The Dark Knight Rises" this weekend."
I remember Drowning Pool's "Let the bodies hit the floor" single was a new hit shortly before 09/11, they didn't play that on the radio for a month afterwards.
I don't see why, it's not about something like today. But I can see the sensitivity of the situation.
Some other band had a song called "Chop Suey" that referenced "self rightious suicide". The band was from Lebanon too. I remember this because I was in high school at the time and this was quite popular. Now that's going to bug me all night about that band name....
System of A Down
System of a Down. And from the page I read, the "suicide" song was due to come out the week of or right after 9/11
Yeah, that CD I bought about a month before that day, too. I remember jamming to it in my friends Jeep Wrangler on Central Ave in Albuquerque.
My boyfriend at the time loved them. They aren't too bad. Haven't heard anything out of them in years though.
This phone internet of mine is slow to post..
Police in Aurora, Colorado, say 71 people were shot in movie theater massacre: 12 were killed, and 59 were injured.
observation...court houses attract a lot of losers...
Upstanding citizens, one and all.....Gary Bussey, Lindsay Lohan, Orville Simpson and don't forget....Gary Coleman. :)
I've always been a firm believer that if you don't feel good about your own life, go sit in a courtroom for an afternoon. Some great drama there, and besides, I'm just nosy.
I must concur....The Great Pantie Snatcher trial last year was one I missed--Sigh.
It's pretty interesting. In high school our business law class went to observe a DUI trial that lasted all day. We watched Jury selection, etc. Pretty interesting, and comical at times. One guy who was obviously trying to get out of jury duty said he saw nothing wrong with drinking and driving and does it all the time himself. He was dismissed as a potential juror. I'm sure he made it to work on time that morning, LOL. Some people just can't afford to miss work, no PTO and stuff
Moderated again....Was it something I said? Maybe the word PANTIE, or should it be PANTY?
How about SNATCHER or should it be SN@TCHER? Just curious....
It was "snatch." And we may be a tad slower in the Mod queue today. Horrifying stuff going on.
Get yourself up to speed, this appears to be where we're headed on here.
WD is learning Spanish so I might as well learn a new language also. I was always impressed with the Code Talkers during WW 2.
Thank You-I can imagine as I already read one on the Ms. Sylvia tread.

lovely 2.5 hr lunch break!
They really do. I was a cop for awhile ( got injured and then had kids but will get back into it when they are older)and got to see the fun ones in court on a biweekly basis. The stories I can tell!
MiL is a Judge and SiL is a public defender and I would love to hear some of their stories as I can only imagine what they have seen. Both work in rather rough/hard areas so I'm sure they have some good ones
Our local library used to share the same building with a court. Library staff frequently had to deal with finding weapons in the rest room that didn't make it through x-ray, and sometimes shackled prisoners being marched to the rest room through a room full of children attending a program. The judge also expressed his dilemma of trying to sentence a criminal to 20 years while listening to a group of children singing Jingle Bells on the other side of the wall.
Hi all... I'm off to replace lunchtime with crafting time. I'm making baby hats and such for my friend's little boy.
Morning...i'm doing my civic doodie today, yawn. at least they have internet down here in the basement.
Say Hi to Vipor for me. :) How's the cafeteria food?
ha ha. not sure on the food...maybe a story for Kat & Co. Best court food in the country?
If it's anything like eating in your local mall's food court, it will be a very short story.
Oh boy. Jury duty!
woo to the hoo
Your Honor, I expect to be judged by 12 smart Blondes....
Finding 12 smart blonds is like finding 12 UFO's: ya hear about them all the time, but no one can ever find one.
Just get 12 Golden Retrievers- they are smarter!
Heh-heh. She said "doodie." Heh-heh.
Since the first time I saw that scene, I don't eat a Baby Ruth without thinking about it.
Ditto. That movie was my absolute favorite as a kid. I quote from it regularly.
wondering who would catch that..
On another light note: there is a guy who looks just like Peter Griffin from Family Guy outside in the street. He's wearing a tutu and yelling church hymns. It's a bit odd.
On a lighter note: Colbert on Texas Critical thinking skill bill:
YAY! Viacom networks back on DirecTV!
Good morning everyone! Sorry I haven't been checking in this week, but since we're down a man in the office here, I get to pick up some slack...and commandeer his desk for the week!
Sad to hear the news coming out of Colorado. Some people are just a bad can of peaNUTS. Prayers go out to those who lost loved ones.
The suspect in the mass shooting at a Colorado movie theater early today has been identified as James Holmes of Aurora, two federal law enforcement sources said. He is 24 years old.
Authorities have revised the shooting death toll downward from 14 to 12. Also, the number of injured has been lowered from 50 to at least 38.
President Obama will address the nation about the shooting at 11:20 a.m. ET.
Now back to your regularly scheduled & moderated Eatocracy.
In lighter news, it appears Lil Biddle #2 is arriving very soon. Mrs Biddle's fluid levels are slowly reducing (which is normal) and they may induce either tomorrow or Monday. Will keep everyone posted.
That puts either RH or Jdizz as the winner of guessing the date. FYI Monday is Jdizz's birthday!
Congratulations! Is this your first? I just started posting here this week so I don't know anyone very well yet. I've got two toddlers, always organized chaos around here. Enjoy them while they are small!
This will be #2 for us.
Positive thoughts going out to all.
What are your plans for that cigar Monica? Oh ... to celebrate the arrival of your new baby. Silly me. ~_~
C'mon Baby, Light my Fire.
No matter how you refer to him, I am not calling him Father Biddle.
Even if you've been a naughty nun?
Father Biddle just sounds so wrong in that context so no worries on needing to be called that Alee.
There will be nun of that in my dungeon. However it there were, then he would be Father Biddle in the Middle.
Oh, look at that – it is Monday. I thought it was on Thursday for some reason. LOL
If the delivery time on Monday is 12:29, I'll be taking you to Vegas at some point.
And I'll be buying a lottery ticket.
let me know if you need a babysitter...me think the hubby needs to practice
Thank you but local family have already begun fighting for who gets to watch Lil Biddle. Will call you in if it gets rough.
Does this mean that congrats are in order...?
Is there a little Jadette on the way...?
Ohhhhhhh, good catch Truth, good catch. Do tell JJ, do tell!!!!!
Is there a Mini Fel in your near future?
Not yet :-), but we do plan to begin the "process" once we get back from GenCon. The idea of doing a gaming convention during my first trimester just sounded like all sorts of bad news. Hubby has been around 1 (one) baby EVER so...
Friday, and like the rest of you, I am sad about the shootings. Of course my heart was beating like mad until I saw Truth's posting...love you, best brother ever!!!
Messed up all around. Thought of you when I heard the story Truth, glad to see you on here this morning. What's our world coming to?
Arguably, Aurora is the armpit of the Denver area, but this is just insane. You think you are going to see a movie with friends and something like this happens.
Do something nice for a loved one today. You never know when you will never see that person again. We waste way too much effort of stupid things and it is all too easy to forget what is important.
Morning. Sad new coming in from Aurora, CO this morning that I just don't understand. Also more than a little perturbed at the cavelier att itude in which a local DJ handle the topic. Talking about the "irony" of the people being shot while watching a violent movie, because apparently if you are seeing a violent movie and murdered it's not as bad as if you had been seeing a comedy. I wrote up an email but I'm not sure who/how to send. Just frustrated with the lack of compassion people seem to have for their fellow man.
Really? That's absurd. You're right, seems few have any compassion at all anymore. Is there an email for the radio station owner? Or a manager? That might be the best place to send it. If that DJ had one I would send him one too. The comments on the actual story here on CNN is full of trolls too. Even saw on Facebook where some idiot said something about demanding a refund. That's the end of my rant. Sorry to gab so much. Didn't get any sleep last night and I tend to get worked up easily this way.
I sent an email to the station manager, it's not a shock jock (oldies station) so the comment came way out of left field. I just don't understand people trying to justify and/or rationalize what happened to these people. Shootings like this aren't rational, and justifying the shooting by saying it was a violent movie anyway is just victim blaming.
I need to go bake something...take anger out some dough
I took my anger out on the veggies for my stir fry.
Very sad !!! I wish that all this stuff would stop !
Good morning all, I am having a sad day in Denver. Apparently someone managed to shoot up a local theatre. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is wrong with people??????????
Good Morning my Brother..watching News 9 on the internets. My thoughts and prayers are with all involved.
Such a horrible story. My thoughts are with the victims & their families.
"Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is wrong with people??????????" I completely agree.
I'm saddened by it.
And I'm saddened by the impending reactionary storm that's already brewing.
