Pssst! Got a sec to chat?

We are utterly thrilled when readers want to hang out and talk – whether it's amongst themselves or in response to pieces we've posted. We want Eatocracy to be a cozy, spirited online home for those who find their way here.

Consider the daily Coffee Klatsch post as your VIP lounge – the primary comments thread for readers who'd like to chat about topics not related to the articles we're running. That way, everyone knows where to find each other, and each post's comments section remains on topic.

You may now return to your regularly scheduled Eatocracy.

I think he is on vacation since he is not answering email. Either that or he quit his job to follow Phish on tour and is right now living in a VW bus with some gal named "Sunflower"...

When I was in the Air Force a friend of mine had a wife named "Sunshine". Legal name.

Daughter of hippies, I am sure.

We have a local fad out here that I don't get...Naming your kids after Colorado localities. I know of a Gunnison, Aspen and Ouray. You know these kids are going to resent it later on.

It's about time witless one! I thought they were not going to make you work as hard this week? Any plans for the weekend or the 4th? Do you let WD get sparklers??

    Hi all.

My friend is still in the hospital, sedated and may be sedated well into next week. Apparently she started to have heart and kidney issues from the preeclampsia. Her various numbers are improving slowly though. *fingers crossed and positive thoughts*

The baby went home yesterday... he's a cutie and his big brothers and sisters are catering to his every whim at the moment (what a way to make summer vacation interesting!),

T-G-I-F peeples! Any fun plans for the weekend? Cooking fun?? Anyone remember the "Galloping Gourmet"? I have been wanting something teriyaki...burger maybe, but has anyone tried teriyaki with ground turkey? And grilled pinapple for sure.

Thanks, I forget sometimes to go to the source of the product for recipe ideas! I think a teriyaki turkey burger and grilled pineapple is in my immediate future...

My ab fab fave was a Kobe beef burger I had a time or two in San Juan Capistrano but the place is now closed and out of business. Dang. Well, it wasn't REAL Kobe but it was a really GOOD imitation!

Just my eyes not working yet...or over-worked? Not sure. Still wating for the new range to come, one more week to go, but with the heat, I really don't want to use the oven anywho. I'd rather fire up the grill and bake food in there if needed. I'm rambling today, aren't I?

Howdy HO! BEE YOU TEE FUL Friday!

By the Way I learned how far out general aviation has to stay from the POTUS in Air Force One.

He flies around in a bubble that is 60 nautical miles in diameter. Restricted flight ops. I knew it had to be roomy but I didn't realize quite how big it is. There is an inner bubble that is 20 NM in dia. NO flight ops.

Cool stats, but that plays even more havoc with air traffic in So. Cal. Once I was leaving the Dallas airport and AFO was on the ground/runway and we had to sit for an hour and couldn't take off because the plane was there, not the pres, just the plane!

      June 29, 2012 at 11:10 am |
      • MicheleG™

Yup. They are fussy about not wanting their plane broken by even an errant pigeon.

        • ™©JbJiNg!eŚ®™@MG

What that brings to mind is how would they keep the pigeons away...snipers on the roofs, a big net, those spikey things they put on lamp posts? The possibilities are endless and amusing! :D

Good morning and Happy Friday. It's hot here in the DMV, looks like Truth sent his weather to us. Going to do my best to stay cool and avoid the 100+ temps.
