OMG! i read your blog on the dog eating things... i can SO relate!! i laughed my azz off!! :)
Oh yeah, that's my life... freaking dog. UGH!
Nice pictures on the iReport, the food looked so yummy and nice to see CB and Tazer! Tazer, I thought you were a fellow blonde?? Boy, I guess I was/am having my own blonde moment... LOL
It's a dark reddish blonde. I'm wearing a black hat in that picture haha
HAHA yeah I have dark blonde hair, I'm wearing a black hat in that picture.
G-D double posting, it told me I hadn't posted anything. Gr!
You must have been having a dark reddish blonde moment! ;)
*snicker* Yup!
I just want to say I won't be around tomorrow in case the Queen is taking roll call. Having another corisone injection in my spine, yippee!
HuH? I've got no address.
http://tazerwarriorprincess.wordpress.com/
Just visited your site and I must say you are very timid and shy...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Yep those are usually the words used to describe me... ;-)
Anyone have the link for the iReport?? I can't find it and I want to see pictures!!
Hey beer babe–goto yesterdays coffee thingy and Mildred has the DOC # listed. It's near the bottom of the page.
Oh my. That sounds like buckets of fun. What's the occasion?
Drive Safe!!
Thank You...got a load of O.J. that needs to be back in Texas by the morning. Hopefully the rain won't slow us down too much.
Just wanted to say that I'm diggin your AC/DC and Sly Stone glasses look in your picture. :)))
Hey thanks! ;-)
I'm decent. Day 2 of absolute deadness at the branch. I finished my book and am now singing Cyndi Lauper songs to myself while the other teller is on lunch.
Apparently you can be so bored it hurts...I'm getting a headache that keeps pushing and pushing.
How are you, Richard?
Doing good–WD and I are having a late lunch in Pensacola, adding fuel and NOT looking forward to a 10 hour drive ahead of us.
Good Morning All! How's the afternoon?
Looks like I've missed quite a bit.
Golly,I wish I had a Bankers job.:)) How are you?
Nice pics!
All of the food looks great. I think you were VERY wise to NOT take the "pho challenge", as pho is VERY filling and that many noodles just cannot be done. The first time I went to VN, I thought "How is a bowl of soup going to be satisfying?"...Trust me though, one bowl is more than enough. Glad you enjoyed the trip.
Hey thanks!
Ooops. Apparently logging in to WordPress and editing stuff, then posting here, automatically links me. Balls.
I thinnk I have a whole new appreciation for you now, having seen your wordpress link...and I love the story about your cat.
Can you send me a link to the wordpress thingy? WD is having problems with the Mac notebook when she saw the word...Cat.
ROFL... hahaha nice.
Rich my link attached to the full warrior princess name doesnt' work?
Hey Bro –
Try this...
http://tazerwarriorprincess.wordpress.com/
Thanks Bro. :)
@ Queen of Everything..... Yes, Marilyn Monroe and I believe it was from "Gentleman prefer Blonds" but as I am having a blonde moment myself I could be WAY off
I thought Richard Simmons said it? @Mildred–The photo of SeaBee and Tazer is up. Good reporting job.
Good morning all!
alas work beckons.. i shall be back.. later... probably after all of you have escaped. :)
Oky doky. I have no idea how to spell that. I'm out too. See you all tomorrow.
Have lovely evening all!
you also!!
?? who said it? ??
...I've found out it's fun to go shopping. It's such a feminine thing to do.
Weren't me, lol
DEFINITELY was not me...
M.M
Marilyn Monroe?
Jimbo the sightseeing clown?
AND in case anyone was wondering... my mornings are slammed now, and my 'quiet' time (ergo the time i can visit the Klatsch and post within) is the early afternoon. WHERE IS EVERYONE????
I'm here. It's getting toward the end of my day, and I am so ready to leave.
hah! word of the day!
hoary \HAWR-ee\ , adjective;
1.Tedious from familiarity; stale.2.Gray or white with age.3.Ancient or venerable.
I think that when our days get hoary, we Klatchers enjoy inventing 'alter egos' to post with, thus creating amusing interest on some of these here blogs. :)
Ayyyyyyyyyyyyymen!
I'm not going to try to use that in a sentence. There are just toooooooo many temptations to, er, head South.
where to? Acapulco via the Looooooooove Boat?? *snickersnicker*
Ed Zachary!
So, the bride flew out for a conference Sunday night, leaving me to bach it for the week. Can tell it is Wednesday, half bag of said donuts with a pot of coffee for breakfast, small can of Spam and half roll of ritz for brunch, and now two slices of cold pizza for lunch with a melo yello. I beleive dinner will be beer and marlboros. Ahhh, the single life, lol
question: what does spam taste like? i know lots of people who love it. i've never eaten it...and quite frankly it scares me a bit. i like to try lots of different things.. but for some reason the meat shaped like a rectangular can freaks me out, and i just cant.
If you have ever had chopped ham out of the deli or Oscar myer packages, it is essentially that, but unsliced. It is a very salty proccessed ham more or less.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. ok! thanks!
OK, what time is dinner?? :)
regarding the above 'child-less' establishements. i dont have kids.. but i can honestly say that if i did, i wouldnt want to take them to certain places. like fine dining, a bar/grill type, etc... i think every business owner has the right to refuse service to anyone..and that includes the parents of toddlers who deem it necessary to take them into a restaurant 'with cloth napkins'. it's just not necessary. their next table mates might be some parents who got a babysitter so that they could enjoy dinner sans screaming, kicking, hair pulling, whatever kids do nowadays. the last thing i'd want as that couple is to listen to it 4 feet away during this 'escape'. there are family oriented businesses, just as there are 'smoking' establishments... there's something for everyone. that old saying 'dont like it, dont do it' applies to this i believe. and to shun a restaurant/airline that chooses to be 'kid-free' is just plain ignorant. i'm quite sure that there will be a time when those exact parents will wish for a kid-free environment, if only for a steak dinner and bottle of wine.
/soapbox moment. :) -wow! just realized i sound kind of like a meanie!!!
Not a meanie at all, Wendy. I agree completely.
I adore children(as long as they're well behaved) but there are times when the manfriend and I just want to be away from ear shattering screams or bratty children running around. I understand that not all are like that, but there should be options aside from bars where you can get away from the little ones for a time.
DONUT. i wanna donut. specifically, a german chocolate donut. with coconut, chocolate sauce, walnuts, and ooey gooey glaze. mmmmm. DONUT!!!
Noooooooooooo you doooooooooon't
*watch the spinning watch*
Yooooooooooo want eeeeeeeggplaaaaaaant
wait.. is the eggplant breaded and deep fried? gimme!
@Hypnotherapist LMAO
I have a half of a bag of Hostess Glazed mini cruellers on my desk here, dig in!
yay! *claps hands* SUGAR!!!! thankyouthankyouthankyou *smacks lips* thankyouthankyouthankyou!!!
You are very welcome! that may be the largest reaction I have ever seen from "proccessed" bagged donuts, lol
WOW! You do know how to stir the pot & get people's ire.
I have a question. I use an HP Mini 311 netbook, 1000NR, for travel and playing games while on vacation. But the games are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay slow. These are facebook games (farmville, etc.). Any suggestions on fixing the speed of loading said games? What is the difference between single core processor and dual core processor? I think mine came with single. Was purchased several years ago. Thanks!!
I would guess you are being limited more by your network connection than the PC itself. Wireless is slow, i would try running it on a hard wire with a highspeed internet connection and see if things don't improve greatly.
In simplistic terms (So if I explain badly or leave something out, sorry) single core processors have to do all the work themselves, which can mean essentially dividing themselves up to do multiple tasks. Dual core processors are general an AMD processor and an Intel processor that each perform separate tasks, but can also work together. Depending on how the algorithms are written, this can be a benefit, running faster, or a detriment, fighting against each other and running slower.
In essence, it's kind of like being able to hook up two computers to run together, except with a dual core system you can wrangle out more power with less energy.
The benefits you'll see is probably in how quickly you can run media and anti-virus software, burn discs, etc. If you run parallel systems (linux and windows, mac OS and windows), you'll definitely see a difference. Probably with graphics heavy gaming. However, if you're just checking email, keeping word or excel files or things of that nature, you're not going to see a lot of difference between two comparable units.
Jeeeez I hate IE6 so much... We just got word we'll be upgrading to 8 and I couldn't be happier. More blogging at work! Yay!
@EG re: banning kids
Instead of banning kids can we ban bad parents? Honestly, most of the time that I see kids acting up in a restaurant (what ever "level" it is, family, causal, etc) there's a parent or parents, or grandparent(s) that's sitting there, not paying attention to the kid(s). They let their kids run amok, possibly in dangerous circumstances, and shout, laugh and cry, while they talk on the phone or otherwise ignore the kids.
Fortunately, I also see parents who talk to their kids during their meal, have a toy or something for the kid to play with, make sure that the kid sits down, tell the kid if they're getting too loud that that is not appropriate behavior and if the kid is really having a melt-down, take the kid outside for a couple of minutes and if they need it, get the rest of their meal to go. I know a couple who has a 5 year old and he's already an angel at places like Friendly's and local diners. They also make sure to go to kid-friendly/family places with him.
We don't tend to praise the latter type parents as much as we complain about the former.
@Kayla – I think there's nothing wrong with adults wanting adult time!
However, the bad parents seem to feel that they can go wherever they want with their kids. Since they're already ignoring the kids then there's no use to pay someone extra to watch the kids for them.
The good parents seem to know that babysitters exist for a reason. If they want to go to out for adult time, they get a baby sitter or a relative to watch the kids.
I am also sympathetic to anyone who brings up kids with certain issues, like mental illness, ADHD, Asperger's/Autism. But usually, those parents that I know who have children that have those issues are engaged with their children during the whole meal anyway. And again, will take the kid outside if they melt down.
Too funny – someone just used the stfu cafe line on you, um Patrickk on the meal with a stranger thread! Priceless.
Yeah i did actually. I liked it the first time I saw it on here. thought it was actually quite funny and felt in that situation, it was appropriate.
I gotta say I am pretty disappointed to see a regular poster (who I have often agreed with) is a troll on the side. Sorry dude, in my eyes U Kinda lose street cred that way.
I honestly dont know how to feel about this subject mostly becuase I dont feel motherly yet though I'm pregnant. I would like to feel okay with this matter. Kids can be annoying. And heaven forbid adults want ADULT time.
HELLO! How is everybody today?
Wall is up. Just have to secure it to the rest of the structure, and put in the bank of windows. Time to get back to work...
Screaming babies on a plane is horrible. Because you are stuck in a big can, your only hope is that your ear buds drown out the sound. That said, I do feel sorry for the parents of infants on a plane because the change in pressure hurts the infants.
Sup!
'Lo!
Hey!
Word!
Good afternoon chums. You'll be happy to note that my penchant for geographically shaped foods does not seem to have spilled over today. I did eat quite a few round things yesterday, from round containers and with round utensils. I am no longer in want of round foods. (Thank goodness. That was seriously odd.)
I do have a question to the parents and future parents on this thread. Are you offended when your kids are banned from certain things?
There's a yahoo article that I clicked on that seems to be heavily debated. The article mentions McDain's – the restaurant the recently decided to ban all kids under 6, and mentions that people have asked airlines for child-free flights, there was a Harry Potter screening that was adults only, and that some businesses are considering child-free hours.
I don't have children, so this actually seems like a good idea to me. It's just a handful of places considering this, and most only for a couple of hours. But there are droves of people there hotly declaring that they'd boycott any business that did this, and that it wasn't fair.
Since this is the internet, I know people react much more strongly than they normally would, I wanted to see how the parents here feel. I have an honorary niece, but that's all my experience with children, really. The evil sib will soon be starting a family, though, so I wonder if my view on the matter will change with a real niece or nephew.
Mine are all growed up now, but when they were small we didn't go out too much, but when we did, we choose family friendly places. One place we went for Sunday breakfast with another couple and their 2 kids, they would put us in a room off to the back that had french doors to close. It was perfect that the kids could run around and we wouldn't bother anyone. Same with the grandkids, parents choose their dining establishments carefully, or get a sitter. Now when my kids were young (ages 7 – 10), I took them out to very nice places, but I made sure they behaved properly.
Yeah, it seems like the ban is mostly aimed at the really small children that are harder to control. But I've seen 7-10 year olds who were horrible too. I think that's more the parents at that point, though.
I'm fine with banning children. I would ban the boys from my house sometimes if it wouldn't cause CPS to come knocking.
Sounds like you need a secret dungeon.
Not being a parent, I can see the value in banning certain places for kids, but it all depends. Even just attempting to do so though, will invariably bring out the militant "I'll do whatever I want and if you say otherwise I'll sue" crowd.
And on the subject of political incorrectness, I used to have a female second line manager at IBM, who used to suggest that all women having their time of month should be required to stay in a group home and not be allowed to leave. This was back in the 1980s. I am sure she would have already been sued today.
Congrats to your Evil Sib! Are they in the planning/trying stages or actually expecting a bundle of joy? I have a real niece and nephew and they are treasures!
First, I saw the latest HP movie. It was rated PG-13, so any restrictions put on the screening was keeping the theater owners from getting sued or whatever happens if they get caught. I agree with the rating and wouldn't recommend that children under 13 see it. This was a case of protecting the children and I'll support that anywhere. Sadly it is because of the parent who would recklessly & thoughtlessly allow a child into this kind of less-than-child-friendly situation that bans like these are put in place. If someone has that much disregard for the well-being of a child and they couldn't manage to find a sitter for the evening, then they are too selfish to be parents. If I was that business owner, if the parents won't make an effort to shield their children from harm, I will.
Fold #2: If a restaurant or airline has imposed child-free limitations and they haven't done their research to see how that will impact their business, then that's gamble they'll have to live with. What's going to be interesting is to see if the child-free businesses get more business because of the restrictions or less because they've ignorantly shunned people with kids.
Several years ago, I was seeing a matinee of the film "Jarhead" which was a war movie that was rated R, and a lady came in with her two toddlers both under five. I thouoght carefully, but asked if she was sure whe was in the right theatre and she dang near took my head off. Some parents have absolutely no judgement...
I believe they're hopeful that they are at the end of the trying stage. The evil sib has been married a couple of years now, and they have decided a family is in order. They live some distance away, so there's a delay in the news reaching me.
So you showed more concern for their welfare than the mom did? Kudos to you at least. Too bad mom didn't care.
*climbing back up on the soapbox*
Speaking as that mom: Didn't you know? It's all about me. My children are just tax deductions and they wouldn't be effected (affected?) by a move that I want to see. It's my duty as a parent to make sure that didn't happen. I'll just keep my head in the sand. If a movie like that did effect my kid, I wouldn't be able to see the movies I wanted to see anymore and that's way more important than my childrens' welfare.
*end rant*
Questions: does anyone know if there are any checks & balances in place for the MPAA rating system?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_Picture_Association_of_America_film_rating_system
They read as if they are nothing more than a gauge for parents to decide whether or not they have to attend the movie with their child. How is this enforced, Sensei?
Actually, the theatre was a multiplex, and I know there was a kid's movie playing adjacent...I honestly thought she was in the wrong theatre...And if you saw "Jarhead", you know that it was NOT a movie for young'uns...
Why do people keep bringing up my crabs?
Drive safe my friend! And yes hooomidity makes people cranky, especially women because it messes with our hair and make up! :)
Try having to wear a necktie in the humidity...(though ladies do often have to endure pantyhose)
And yes, heat and humidity definitely have an effect on the mind.
Ugh, couldn't imagine a tie. Hubs worked as car salesman when we moved to FL and he only lasted 1 year at that because of the heat and the tie thingy. Thank goodness, most women do NOT have to wear pantyhose anymore. They were invented by some very evil male species, I'm sure.
Like the person who invented the bra. They definitely didn't have comfort, heat or humidity in mind.
However, the person who invented stockings, they had ... other things .... in mind. ~_~
Hubs says the person who invented the bra was German. Dr. Keepsemfromfloppin! LOL
Am I the only one who thinks this is funny? I crack myself up.
I thought I heard the Queen laughing also....must be a blonde thing.:)))
Well folks, WD and I are loaded and gonna try and beat the rain,at least for awhile. I do have a question for you all to comment on tho–Does the Heat and Humidity affect the Brain? The Queen is having a bad day at work due to some dumbazzes, it seems Belinda is the second coming of Oprah and people in general seem to be crabbier than normal. Be safe all...
Thou shalt not take my name in vain! What's an oprah?
She is a piece of work! We must ask her how it feels when she walks on water.
@truth It's still saying downloading... blah.
Having fun with Belinda over on the eggplant thread. I don't beleive I have ever seen anyone that self absorbed! She even defended herself by more of her self centeredness!! Amazing.
That's *still* going on? Wow....
I don't think she has told us just how wonderful she is yet, just teasing us with bits of awesomeness.
You have to admit that the beatdown process is fun...
BTW, Did you get the pics with SeaBee and Tazer posted yet?
Ain't that the truth (pun intended)! I am guessing you are Belinda is a idiott, with two "t's"?
Good morning Kitty Klatsches! Looks like some of our furry friends have been getting into trouble...time for some WD intervention??
Ok, time to stir the pot on the dining with strangers thread...
You naughty boy...
Don't say that too loudly, or else AleeD will be breaking out her whip...
Did someone say . naughty?
WsssssssssPOP! [man it's good to have that whip rebraided by Whamco!] SssssssssssssPOPCRACK!
Good Morning All! 76' in the windy city today. Tut, tut – looks like rain.
Ours has this neurotic need to throw himself under my feet when I am getting ready to leave the house in the morning. Keep in mind this is at about 5:20 and the place is dark since Miss Saigon is still sleeping. He also likes to talk it up when I get home, since he has been home alone all day with nobody to talk to. I think CNN should start a "Petocracy" blog, where they all can chat amongst themselves while we're all at work.
LOL – Sounds like he's very interactive. Ours "Clawdius" thinks he's either a dog, or a human. He will follow you around if you are out side, comes running up to you if he's outside when we get home from work. When I was laid up with the last round of ankle surgeries, he was in bed with me 23 hours of the day. It was like pulling teeth to get him to move if I had to get up, or hubby had to wash the bedding. He's VERY loyal ;)
It's already humid and getting hotter in PC this morning. On the bright side,a tropical depression is forming around Cuba and they are projecting it to hit around Houston on Friday. Fingers crossed..
Yup. Middle of the state is always hotter. It's only supposed to reach 90 today. That's almost chilly.
Hope those sketti models come true for you & WD.
Good Morning. How's everyone today?
WCF is expecting showers this afternoon and hot, humid conditions.
Morning all. Just reading the local paper, a quote for the day that is stuck in my head..... "Grosulak, who is tougher than a Redneck at a Puff Daddy concert, has had surgery to repair a torn ligament and meniscus. " Who comes up with this stuff?lol
They have Rednecks in Montana? Who'd a thunk it? Good Morning.
Good morning to you. I am sure there is no shortage of rednecks here, but the odds of a Puff daddy sighting are pretty slim.
OK, coffee kicking in, kitchen cleaned, now it's time to go build the rest of the wall so we can maybe put it up tonight.
Denver is getting a nice break from the heat...High eighties for the next few days, which will be VERY nice. I am going to enjoy my last three weeks of relative leisure before school starts and I will be AGAIN calling my congressional reps to chew azz about not getting this done.
And i think there is a 12-step program for kitties. It works if they work it.
I had WD yesterday keep hitting the redial button and only got a busy signal. If enough of us e-mail them maybe we can crash the servers?
But kitties are so cute! Why would you need a 12 step program to rehabilitate them?
80s and dry around here too. The 80s aren't the bad part... it's when the 80s are combined with humidity, then become 90s with humidity.... that's when we *melt*.
LOL – He needs it. Catnip is the only thing he goes nuts over. Doesn't like to play, will sometimes chase a laser dot, when the mood strikes him. :) He's 12, so I guess he's earned the right to not be that active. Still goes outside – to sleep, but comes in every night, sleeps either between hubby and I in bed, or on "his" third of the bed. Who would've thought that a king bed would just be big enough for 2 adults and 1
Good morning all. So, some time in the middle of the night, my cat decides to leave the bedroom, and find the new bag of cat nip. He went through 2 sealed bags, and the packing box just to get to it. Not to mention getting up on a table (which he's not allowed, and never does) and breaking my hubby's new coffee mug.
I now have a stoned kitty, who is outside (his choice)... I hope he sleeps it off.
Hey Man,pass that over my way...
Good Morning everyone. I'll put the tea kettle on.
Hmmm... my iReport with the picture of SeaBee, Tazer, and me is still "uploading" after 17 hours. I'm contacting CNN Support (I hope).
We could blame this on Congress yet we really know it's Tazers fault. :))
Good morning Bro...How is the life on the highway this morning?
Morning my Brother–Life is good. Chorizo, sausage and eggs on a buttered Mexican biscuit and 2 churros for breakfast. That's what WD had–HA! I'm impressed, they have a new warehouse manager down here and they actually have some pallets on the trailer. What's happening in the MHC?
It's Hump Day–kiss a camel today. Good Morning all, coffee is ready and WD and I are waiting on the roach coach.
