We're getting down to the wire in The People's Best New Chef 2011 race. While the ultimate winner will be determined by the top vote-getter across all regions, howzabout you stand up for your neck of the woods?

Just so ya know, this has no bearing on the actual outcome of the contest (which ends on 3/1), but it's a dandy chance to stand up for the chefs of your region. Share a passionate boost of your local folks, and we'll include some of the best responses in an upcoming post. Get clicking and visit foodandwine.com for more info on all the contenders.

There is no chef up for this honor from NY STATE outside the metropolitan area of NYC. Upstate NY to vote regionally is sometimes New England, sometimes Mid-Atlantic, it is also the only state that borders Lake Ontario (also borders Lake Erie) so it is a Great Lakes state and certainly is a New York area even though I don't think that is what was meant by the option of New York Area. Which region would support chefs in my area – 3 of the 4 have chefs approximately the same distance away from where I am located.

Down Here in Dothan Alabama we have two of the greatest resturants ever , if you enjoy Indian food and if you love Lamb Gyros then you need to come down here and try the great food at Taj Cafe & Barbeque. A place to enjoy Indian cuisine and some down home Southern Barbeque made fresh everyday and made when ordered nothing sitting around soaking up any grease or under heat lamps all day and dried out.
