While you're frying up some eggs and bacon, we're cooking up something else: a way to celebrate today's food holiday and the most delicious finds on TV. It’s okay to go a little bananas: February 23 is National Banana Bread Day. Chewy, comforting and slightly sticky, banana bread is enjoyed best with a cold glass of milk (for when it gets a little stuck on the way down). And yes, it is acceptable to use your fingers for extracting the rogue crumbs left on your plate. Orange you glad we said banana? What's on TV? “Rachael Ray Show” – check local listings “La Cucina” – SHOe, 9 a.m. ET “Worst Cooks in America” – Food Network, 9 p.m. ET “Top Chef” – Bravo TV, 10 p.m. ET |

I use a banana bread recipe from a cookbook produced by the local church retreat house in the 60's – it's never failed me and everyone loves it. And as a bonus, my mom has some recipes in the book, so it's extra special to me. :-)
I always eat banana bread in the spring. Come to think of it, I'm not sure why. It should be a fall thing, but that is when I eat pumpkin bread.
Ick.
I concur.
My grandmammy used to make the best banana bread.
I like mine Fried with nuts and Peanut Butter!!!!
