While you're frying up some eggs and bacon, we're cooking up something else: a way to celebrate today's food holiday and the most delicious finds on TV.

November 18 is National Vichyssoise Day.

Though the name is French, Vichyssoise was invented at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in New York City in 1917. Louis Diat, a Frenchman and the head chef of the Ritz, named his creation after the town he was born in.

Vichyssoise is a soup made of puréed leeks and potatoes, cream and chicken stock. Like revenge, Vichyssoise is a soup best served cold.

What's on TV?

You three are now an offical reason for my workday procrastination rate increasing. If I wasn't on the east coast, I'd try to get in on the 5@5 game you all have going.

Nope. But I know where Black River Falls is. I've only lived in the area for about a year. Moved here from Alaska

Had to look up how to pronounce that, vish-ee-swahz. Without knowing it's soup, sounds like something Jdizz would be gettin' up in to. :)

Yep! Was just a harsh Monday and a tired Tuesday. Yesterday was crazy at work, real busy as I was the only one in.
