While you're frying up some eggs and bacon, we're cooking up something else: a way to celebrate today's food holiday and the most delicious finds on TV.

November 3 marks National Sandwich Day. The day is commissioned as such because on this very day in 1718, John Montagu, the Fourth Earl of Sandwich, was born.

Popular lore goes that it is he who universalized the portable favorite of on-the-go and stand-up diners. The Earl fancied himself a card game and began to request two pieces of bread with a meat filling so that he may eat with one hand and continue the game without interruption. Thus, the Earl's favorite meal received his namesake.

Today, grinder groupies, Dagwood devotees and panini partisans rejoice! Here's to a filling holiday.

So - what'll it be?

What's on TV?

"Soul Food" - BET, 8 p.m. ET
The trials and tribulations of a family that gets together for Sunday supper every week. Collards, cornbread and fried chicken abound.

"Dinner Rush" - Sundance Channel, 8 p.m. ET
The chaos of one night in a swanky Manhattan Italian restaurant.

"Wine TV" - The NET, 9 p.m. ET
A behind-the-scenes look into fine glasses of wine from around the world.

"Top Chef: Just Desserts" - Bravo, 10 p.m. ET
The five remaining pastry chefs construct desserts for a magazine-sponsored get-together.

The rumor going on in Dallas is that JerryWorld 2 is already in the works. He wants to add on to this place. Saw that 60 Minutes was interviewing him while the Jacksonville team was handing their Butts back to them. Can't wait to hear the excuses on that one.
Jdizz is extremely quiet today. Wonder if the Big Boss is in town or Dare I say-He is actually working?

I think he must have been off yesterday, given that he works on Saturdays...Come to think of it, he works for MY bank too...

Yep. Partied too hard Monday night, took yesterday off. Which means I now have a large load. Workload, that is.

Had a fun day yesterday. Worked at the polls and finally made it home by 9:30 or so...Then my wife was asking what the election was about and if we will have a new president today. So we had an "Intro of US Government" class...Interesting all that we take for granted here.

The Earth is almost in Perfect Harmony today. Now if we can only do something about the Broncos and Cowboys!

Both the Broncos and Cowboys are way too liberal to win consistently. Turnovers, views on abortion and tax policy and the war on terror make for solid football teams. They will never be able to compete with the more conservative teams like New England or Indy until they get their heads straight on these issues.

I sure am glad you didn't include the 49'ers in your statement! Two word answer to the Cowboys problem-Jerry Jones.
Two word answer to the Broncos problem-Thin Atr. They are all members of the Mile High Club.

Agreed about Jones, but you got to admit it is a lot of fun knowing that he built that monstrosity of a stadium and his team cannot win in it. The line from Shrek comes to mind – "Maybe he is trying to compensate for something"...

The Earl of Sandwich was well known as a liberal and a gambling addict. Typical of The Party of Hate.

And Pelosi is gone! Happy Happy Joy Joy!
